For over 20 years, Booklog has set the standard for point-of-sale
that is easy to learn, use, and master. Booklog's system operates
like a conventional cash register, letting you ring up sales, open
the cash drawer and print sales receipts. Unlike a conventional cash
register, though, it lets you sell by Title as well as ISBN and Department
as well as keep track of all your customers' sales.
When you enter a name from your Customer File, Booklog records the
purchase date, dollars spent, quantity purchased, and name of each
item purchased. It maintains a running tally of total dollars and
quantity purchased, average dollars and quantity purchased, number
of purchases, and the last date the customer purchased in your store.
So if you want to do target marketing - you've got all the information
at your fingertips, which customers bought mysteries, which customers
prefer biographies, which customers haven't been in for six months.
After each sale, the system automatically updates on-hand quantity and sales history in the Inventory File and records income by Category and Department.
